Discussion Forum and Seminar The Utilization of GIS for Geoscience Research Field and Socioeconomic Impact
Gunadarma University, Tuesday-Wednesday (25-26 February 2014), organized discussion forum and seminar The Utilization of GIS for Geoscience Research Field and Socioeconomic Impact, as a form of cooperation between Gunadarma University with Kemristek, Geospatial Information Agency, researchers from TU Delft and VU University, as well as several other related institutions. Discussion Forum took place in the Campus Gunadarma, Graha Simatupang 6th Floor, Jl. Kav.38 TB Simatupang, South Jakarta on February 25, 2014. Seminar itself was held on February 26, 2014 at Auditorium Gunadarma Depok of Building 4, 6th Floor, Jalan Raya No.100 Margonda Depok, West Java. Presenters filling activities include:
1. Prof. Olivier Hoes, Lecturer of TU Delft, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geoscience, Netherlands
2. Representation of The State Ministry of Research and Technology
3. Representation of Geospatial Information Agency
4. Representation of Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB)
5. Representation of Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD)
This event was attended by students, lecturers, staff, and invitations. Discussion Forum and Seminar officially opened by the Chairman of the Master Program in Civil Engineering, Dr. Sri Wulandari then opening remarks from the Chief Executive, Dr. Rer. Nat. I Made Wiryana, SSI., SKOM., MSC. as the Coordinator of International Cooperation in Gunadarma University.
The first speaker of Seminar from Representation of The State Ministry of Research and Technology talked about Indonesia Go Open Source (IGOS Nusantara), then continued to the next speaker from Gunadarma University was Dr. Teddy Oswari who talked his research about Digitizing Plant Food Based Geographic Information System (GIS) on Local Commodities in Indonesia. The last speaker was Prof. Olivier Hoes, Lecturer of TU Delft, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geoscience, Netherlands. He talked about World Hydropower Map, Potential Locations Along All Rivers in The World. The seminar ended with question and answer session, then giving of souvenirs to the speakers and the distribution of certificates to the participants of the seminar.
