The Doctoral Thesis Defence of Information Technology


Doctoral Gunadarma University Information Technology conducted doctoral thesis defence of Information Technology on May 1, 2010 in Auditorium D Gunadarma University Jl. Margonda Raya Pondok Cina Depok.


Doctoral candidates in thesis defence this time was Setiyono presented his dissertation with the title: "Modeling Theory Simulation-Based Power Reduction of Harmonic Voltage Not Just At Ideal". The members of the thesis advisory committee were Prof. supervisor. Busono Soerowirdjo, MSc., PhD, as Principal advisor, Dr. Eri Prasetyo Wibowo and Prof. Dr. Sarifuddin Madenda as Co-Advisor. External examiner is Dr. Ir. Slamet Riyadi.


In his presentation, Setiyono doctoral candidate explains that his research discusses the problem of harmonic current reduction with the development of active filters on the system topology of the parallel three-phase three-wire. This research is expected to be able to contribute technology to the utility (in this case or the State Electricity Company PLN) in overcoming the problem of the presence of harmonics, effects and solutions. From the scientific side, this research contributes in developing the extraction method of harmonics on power systems can be reduced, and can provide maximum results. from the technological side, this research can be implemented onto the hardware or device that can reduce the content of harmonics in power system so that adverse impacts by harmonics can be avoided.


Based on the results of the trial senate, the doctoral candidate Setiyono passed with honors. Dr. Setiyono is the 24th Doctor who achieved his doctorate at the University of Information Technology Gunadarma.


Doctoral candidate at the second session is to present a dissertation Rudi Trisno Yuwono with the title: " Performance Evaluation of Fingerprint Pattern Matching Algorithm Using Point Center Of A Kind dots nearest minutiae." The members of the thesis advisory committee were Prof. supervisor. Dr. Sarifuddin Madenda as the Principal Advisor, as co-advisers Dr. Eri Prasetyo of Wibowo and Dr. Sunny Arief Sudiro.External examniner is Drs. Harjoko Agus, MSc., PhD.


Doctoral Candidate Rudi Trisno Yuwono presented regarding improvements fingerprint pattern matching algorithm developed by Shenglin Yang. This research contributes to both theoretical and technological development. From the side of science, development of algorithms and fingerprint pattern matching method can be used to increase the level of accuracy. In terms of technology, the algorithm is expected to be implemented in software and fingerprint pattern matching into a hardware device fingerprint chip which can then be used in a variety of applied fields such as banking and forensics.


Based on the results of the trial senate, the doctoral candidate Rudi Trisno Yuwono has passed with honors. Dr. Rudi Trisno Yuwono is the 25th Doctor who achieved his doctorate at the University of Information Technology Gunadarma.
