Thesis Defence of Doctoral in Economics : Supiningtyas Purwaningrum and Vincentia Sylvy Setiawan
On Monday, November 27th, 2017 has been held thesis defend of Doctor in Economics field at Karawaci Campus Auditorium of Universitas Gunadarma with promovenda Supiningtyas Purwaningrum at morning session and promovenda Vincentia Sylvy Setiawan in the afternoon session.
In the morning session is opportunity of promovenda Supiningtyas Purwaningrum with the promotor Prof. Dr. Dharma Tintri Ediraras, SE., Ak.,MBA.,CA and Co-Promotor Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Hermana, MM also outside examiner Prof. Dr. Taufiq Marwah, SE., M.Si presented his thesis entitled “Determinants of Foreign Direct Investment With International Financial Reporting Standards As Interviewing: A Study of Empirical Cross Country Asia”. The purpose of the research is to test and analyze the Funding System, Legal System, Taxes, Inflation, Human Development Index, Culture, Political Economy, and Technology as Determinants as IFRS adoption, test and analyze Funding System, Legal System, Tax, Inflation, Human Development Index, Culture, Politics Economics and Technology as Determinants as Foreign Direct Investment, test and analyze that IFRS adoption can increase Foreign Direct Investment.
The results showed that the legal and tax system is the determinant of IFRS adoption; Funding System, Legal System, Tax, Inflation, Culture, Politics Economy is the determinant of Foreign Direct Investment; and IFRS adoption can increase Foreign Direct Investment.
After the break, the afternoon session continued with Promovenda Vincentia Sylvy Setiawan presenting his thesis entitled "The effects of Proportion of Female Directions, Firm Size and Net Premium to Financial Performance in Public Insurance Firms with Ownership as Moderator Variable Period 2011-2015". Acting as the Promotor is Prof. Dr. E.S. Margianti, SE.,MM and Co-Promotor Dr. Rer.Pol. Sudaryanto and Dr. Dewi Hanggraeni, SE., MBA as External Examiner.
The result showed that simultaneously the proportion of female directors, firm size and the amount of net premium moderated by ownership have an effect on company performance (ROA). Partially found that the proportion of female directors as well as firm size, net premiums and the proportion of female directors moderated with ownership affects ROA. Simultaneously, the proportion of female directors, firm size and the amount of net premium moderated by ownership affect the company’s performance (ROE), but partially only net premiums as well as size of the company and the proportion of female directors moderated with ownership affecting ROE. These results confirm that sufficient evidence that proportion of female directors partially or jointly affects the financial performance of general insurance companies in Indonesia.
The Senate Committee of Universitas Gunadarma determined both Supiningtyas Purwaningrum with. promotor Prof. Dr. Dharma Tintri Ediraras, SE., Ak.,MBA.,CA and Co-Promotor Prof. Dr. Ir. Budi Hermana, MM and promovenda Vincentia Sylvy Setiawan with promotor Prof. Dr. E.S. Margianti, SE.,MM and Co-Promotor Dr. Rer.Pol. Sudaryanto graduated with honors. Both of them became 105th and 106th Doctor of Economy in Universitas Gunadarma.
