on December 11, 2014, Doctoral program Gunadarma University proudly present the 72nd and 73rd doctoral thesis defence in Economy at Gunadarma University, Campus L, Cengkareng. As the first candidat, Reni Diah Kusumawati presented her thesis dissertation with title "The Effect of Marketing Mix Through the Intention to Buy on the Decision to Purchase Music Products with Culture and Experience as Moderating Variables". The advisors committee are Prof. Dr. Suryo Guritno, MStat. as a Promotor and Dr. rer. pol. Sudaryanto as a Co-Promotor, also as external examiner is Dr. Erwin Owan Hermansyah.
The purpose of this study was to analyse the influence of marketing mix consists of product, price, promotion, distribution, services, physical evidence, and process through purchase intention on purchasing decisions by consumers on music products, either packaged on CD or online downloaded, with the culture and experience as moderating variables.
The results showed that the elements of marketing mix namely product, price, distribution and process have the effect on consumer purchase intention on CD music product, and for consumer purchasing decisions on CD music product through purchase intentions have influenced by product, distribution and process. Consumer purchase intentions on online music product affected by price, distribution and physical evidences, and for consumer purchase decision on online music product through purchase intentions have influenced by products and promotions. Cultural and experience proofed as moderating variables that strengthens consumerís purchase intention to buy the product both for CD music and online music products. The results of statistics test revealed that there are differences in the behavior of consumers on purchase decision on CD music product and online music products, in particular for the aspects that related to the product, distribution, physical evidence, process, purchase intention, culture, experience, and purchasing decisions.

The second candidate is Agus Sulaksono with Prof. Dr. Nopirin, MA. as the Promotor, Dr. rer. pol. Sudaryanto as CoPromotor and Dr. Iwan Lesmana as an external examiner. He defended his thesis dissertation with title "Effect of Coal Industry Against Sustainable Economic Development in the Districs/Municipalities".
This research sustainable economic development approach that the coal industry can provide direct positive impact to the economic, social and environmental aspects. The coal industry has indirect positive influence through royalties, economic aspects, environmental aspects of the social aspects.
The results of SEM analysis showed that the latent variable indicators can meet the criteria of goodness of fit index. The model developed meets the criteria of goodness of fit index. There are some latent variable in the model that not meet the goodness of fit index. However, this can be accounted theoretically.
The results indicate that the sustainable economic development approach the coal industry does not increase the economic aspects, thereby reducing the social aspects. These results provide an understanding that the coal industry is controversial company that may bring potential environmental impacts of positive and negative to society and economic growth.
