Thesis Defence of Doctoral in Economy : Sri Sapto Darmawati and Sardiyo
Doctoral Program Gunadarma University Conducted Doctoral thesis defense in Economy on January 27th 2017 in the Auditorium of the University Campus D Gunadarma-Depok. Beginning with promovendus Sri Sapto Darmawati who presented his dissertation entitled "Influence of Internal Control and Risk Management Governance and Implications Against the abilitas Profit Public Bank in Indonesia", which was promoted by Prof. Dr. Dharma Tintri E and Dr. Indrayani Emmy as co-promoter.
Promovendus Sri Sapto Darmawati explained several studies including the following objectives: to analyze the effect of the application of internal control and risk management in governance; analyze the effect of the implementation of internal controls, directly and indirectly through governance on profitability. This study uses two independent variables, namely: internal control and risk management, governance as variable between and profitability as the dependent variable.
The results of the research can prove that the internal control and risk management positively affects good governance; control was not directly affect the profitability of public banks, but the indirect effect on good governance; risk management effect on profitability, either directly or indirectly through good governance; governance positive effect on the profitability of public banks.
Based on the results promovendus Sri Sapto Darmawati senate passed with predicate Cum laude.
After the break, the second session continued promovendus Sardiyo with his dissertation title "Job Satisfaction: Determinants and Effects of Interaction With Performance Against Lecturer Spirituality" promoted by Prof. Dr. Nopirin, MA and Dr. Toto Sugiharto as co-promoter. The study was conducted to analyze the effect of leadership, organizational culture, motivation, competence on job satisfaction and interaction between job satisfaction and spirituality on lecturersí performance.
A total of 250 lecturers within Kopertis Region II of South Sumatera, who were selected using proportional sampling methods, involved as respondents in this study. Data on all research variables are collected from respondents using questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the research hypotheses and to analyze the causal relationship amongst research variables.
The results of the study showed that job satisfaction, either partially or simultaneously in different magnitudes and directions, is affected by leadership, organizational culture, motivation, and competence. Of these four variables, competence is identified as the most dominant variable in affecting job satisfaction, followed by motivation, organizational culture, and leadership. Job satisfaction and its interaction with spirituality significantly affect performance of lecturers.
