Thesis Defence of Doctoral in Information Technology: Relly Andayani and Sigit Widiyanto
On 12th July 2017, Doctoral Program Gunadarma University conducted doctoral thesis defence in Information Technology at Auditorium of Gunadarma University, Campus D, Jl. Margonda Raya, Pondok Cina, Depok.
As the first candidat, Relly Andayani presented her thesis dissertation with title Development of Strong Press Classification Method and Concrete Slump Based on Fresh Concrete Texture Features. The advisors committee are Prof. Dr. Sarifuddin Madenda as a Promotor also Dr. Eri Prasetyo Wibowo and Dr. Ir. H. Muslikh, M.Sc., M.Phil. as Co-Promotor, and as external examiner is Dr. Ir. Bambang Supriyadi, CES., DEA.
This research proposes a combined method of Morphological algorithm and Gray Level Co-Occurent Matrix (GLCM) for texture feature extraction process in the form of contrast, correlation, energy, and homogeniety. Image object in the form of fresh concrete, Mix design made with method from Department of Environment (DoE).
The experimental results of the methods and algorithms developed show that the measurement of the texture characteristics globally in one unified image shows better results from the measurement model locally. Global analysis on the contrast feature shows that the higher the compressive strength of the concrete, the smaller the contrast value which means the texture of the concrete image becomes smoother.
The second candidate is Sigit Widiyanto with Prof. Dr. Sarifuddin Madenda as The Promotor, also Prof. Dr. Yuhara Sukra, M.Sc and Dr. Eri Prasetyo Wibowo as CoPromotor, and Dr. Ir. Agus Buono, M.Si, M.Kom. as a external examiner. He defended his thesis dissertation with title Development of Texture Feature Extraction Method with GLCM and Wavelet Based for the Tenderness of Beef Classification.
This study aims to develop a method to extract the beef’s texture features as the basic in beef’s classification process. Texture feature’s extraction uses statistical analysis of Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) and domain frequencies Wavelet transformation.
The test results show that contrast, correlation, energy, and homogeneity features of the GLCM and the diagonal and vertical details of the DWT have significant correlations.
Method and algorithm have been successfully implemented into software prototypes on a desktop and mobile based.
The Senate Committee of Gunadarma University determined Relly Andayani was graduated with honors and Sigit Widiyanto is cumlaude. Doctor Relly Andayani and Doctor Sigit Widiyanto are 107th and 108th Doctor of Information Technology in Gunadarma University.
Expected from the results of these study can contribute and benefit theoretically and technology development.
