Thesis Defence of Doctoral in Information Technology : Tavipia Rumambi and Robby Chandra

On 15th November 2016, Doctoral Program Gunadarma University conducted doctoral thesis defence in Information Technology at Auditorium of Gunadarma University, Pondok Cina, Depok.

Promovenda Tavipia Rumambi, SKom., MMSI which promoted by Prof. Dr. Sarifuddin Madenda, as well as co-promoter Dr. Eri Prasetyo Wibowo and Dr. Hustinawati, in her dissertation "Algorithms Feature Extraction Skeleton Straight Leg Raise To Test Compression Roots Nerve Sciaticus At Low Back Pain", proposes a method of detection and feature extraction SLR to test nerve root compression sciaticus on Low Back Pain using grayscale depth and take advantage of the Xbox 360 kinect technology in real time. The proposed method includes the development and acquisition of calibration algorithms frame image (motion) detection and feature extraction algorithms SLR skeleton framework. This algorithm is packed into a single unit and implemented using the C# programming language into a software prototype.

The results of this research indicate that the calibration algorithm and RGB image acquisition using the kinect patients with grayscale depth can detect skeleton SLR, SLR skeleton extraction algorithm features the image of the patient to facilitate the calculation of the angle SLR for nerve root compression test sciaticus where the angle between 30-70 degrees positive indications the compression of the nerve roots sciaticus on Low Back Pain.

Promovenda Tavipia Rumambi based on the Senate result passed with honors and her name now Dr. Tavipia Rumambi.

Promovenda Robby Chandra at the second session presented his dissertation entitled Zigzag Scan Algorithm Optimization Method Using Mapping and Implementation to In-FPGA IC to Support JPEG Image Compression Process In Real-Time.

Developing an optimization algorithm zigzag scan technique with mapping method. Zigzag scan with mapping method which is the process of sorting the results in the order quantized DCT- predetermined position in a zigzag. This mapping method can speed up the compression process. From the research optimization zigzag scan with the mapping method has been successfully developed yaiu able to increase the processing time sequencing DCT coefficients-quantized, because by using the method of mapping input data directly placed in the order position sidah determined without comparison value and not a lot of looping process. Implememtasi done using VHDL description and simulation done using Xilinx ISE 9.2i software.

Promovenda Robby Candra which promoted by Prof. Dr. Sarifuddin Madenda, Dr. Sunny Arief Sudiro and Dr. Muhammad Vali as co-promoter passed with honors.
