The candidate is Nurul Qomariyah presented her thesis dissertation with title Factors That Determine Happiness of Unemployed Mothers. The advisors committee are Prof. Djamaludin Ancok, PhD as a Promotor and Dr. Ratna Wulan, SU. as Co-Promotor, also as external examiner is Prof. Dr. Sofia Retnowati, M. S.
This study aims to determine the happy characteristics of unemployed mothers, know the factors that contribute to the happiness of unemployed mothers, and test the happiness model of unemployed mothers.
The dissertation research is based indigenous psychology, that is apply sequential exploratory. Sequential exploratory is a two-step research method in which the first stage is a qualitative study, while the second stage is a quantitative study. The methods used in qualitative are qualitative survey, interview, and FGD. Quantitative data analysis technique is using Structural Equotion Modeling (SEM) with SPSS and AMOS.
The results of this study indicate that there are three characteristics of happy unemployed mother. There are positive feelings, low negatives feelings, and the well-being of significant others. The four factors that contribute to the happiness of unemployed mothers are the husbandís characteristic, the fulfillment of needs, the physical health, and the helping behavior. In addition, the results of the analysis show that the happiness model of unemployed mother meet the goodness of fit.
