Tuesday, August 11, 2015 Economic Doctoral Program of Gunadarma University held  a Thesis Defence of Gunadarma University at the Auditorium of the Campus Depok Jl. Margonda Raya no. 100 Pondok Cina Depok.


The first session was doctoral candidate Rini Tesniwati, “Mandatory adoption of IFRS impact on Information Quality Financial Statements and Its Implications on Cost of Equity Sector Non Financial Public Entities”, is the title of her dissertation and promoted by Prof. Dr. Dharma Tintri, E.S. AK., MBA., CA with co-promoter Dr. rer.Pol.Ir. Sudaryanto., MSc. In her the presentation delivered, this study aimed at exploring and providing explanations whether the mandatory adoption of IAS-IFRS for public entities listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange since January 1, 2012 have impacts on the quality of financial information of the entity. Providing high quality financial disclosure necessary for good corporate governance in order to service and protect the interests of stakeholders. The quality of financial information can be measured by fundamental aspect, financial disclosure, earnings management practices and asymmetric information and cost of equity.

The results show that there are differences in the NPM, total assets, disclosure, earning management and the cost of equity in the financial reporting after compliance IFRS mandatory. The increase NPM makes decrease full disclosure, and an increasing in total assets may expands the disclosure. Earning management practices are motivated by bonus program. The increase NPM and total assets make the cost of equity lower through full disclosure and reducing in asymmetric information. Those findings are in line with the positive accounting theory, signaling theory, agency theory, contingency theory and the theory of capital market efficiency hypothesis. Cross-sectional approach with category of state variable is suggested as further research.

The second session followed by a doctoral candidate Nenik Diah Hartanti with dissertation title “Influential Factors in Buying Decision Against Buyers Textile Batik
Through Mediation Interest Rate Product Attributes” the supervising commission Prof. Dr. Nopirin, MA as a promoter and Dr. Budi Hermana as co-promoter. In her presentation delivered, this study has the objective to test and analyze consumer 1. Effect of individual characteristics, environmental characteristics, ethnocentric and external factors on the level of importance of product attributes. 2. Effect of individual characteristics of consumers, environmental characteristics, ethnocentric, external factors and the importance of product attributes directly to the purchasing decision of textile motif. 3. Effect of individual characteristics of consumers, environmental characteristics, ethnocentric and external factors on purchase decision of textile motif through mediation level of importance of product attributes. 4. Segment the market and marketing strategies appropriate to look at the factors that influence purchasing decisions textile motif. Object of researchers in the study were the buyers and users of textile motif d Tanah Abang Market Block A floor 2. Determination of random samples with the types and sources of data used primary data, obtained from the distribution of a questionnaire to the respondents.

The results found for 1. Effect of individual characteristics of consumers, environmental characteristics, ethnocentric and external factors on the level of importance of product attributes. 2. Effect of individual characteristics of consumers, environmental characteristics, ethnocentric, external factors and the importance of product attributes directly to the purchasing decision of textile motif. 3. Effect of individual characteristics of consumers, environmental characteristics, ethnocentric and external factors on purchase decision of textile motif through mediation level of importance of product attributes. 4. Segment for the consumer textile motif is women aged 30-39 years, with S1 and income between Rp 2,500,001 - Rp 5.000.000, -.

Based on the senate results doctoral candidate Rini Tesniwati graduated with honors and doctoral candidate Nenik Diah Hartanti graduated with satisfy.  Doctoral Rini Tesniwati and doctoral Nenik Diah Hartanti are  the 76th and 77th Doctor of Economics at Gunadarma University
