The 4ICU Ranking institutions (
http://www.4icu.org) has published a ranking of universities in the world on January 11, 2011. In this edition UG is the best private universities in Indonesia that are in the 5 position National Rank after 4 other PTN. The top five positions have not changed that are ITB, UI, UGM, ITS, and Universities Gunadarma as sequence.
Only two private universities are still exist in the dominance of PTN in the TOP TEN namely Gunadarma University and the Bina Nusantara University. Compared to the previous edition, University Gunadarma still in 5 position, while Bina Nusantara University ranked 6th in the July 2010 edition became the 8th. The newbie in the top ten is Diponegoro University and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, which in previous editions ranked 17th and 11th. This 4ICU institutions do universities ranking of 10 200 in 200 countries. Popularity ratings are measured based on three parameters, namely the Google PageRank, inbound links for Yahoo, and web traffic by Alexa (
http://www.alexa.com). So this ranking illustrates the popularity the universities sites on the Internet, and popularity is largely determined by the level of wealth of academic products and contributions from the relevant college. Inbound links yahoo-parameter which is also a measure of visibility on the rating version of Webometrics, a number of links from external sites relevant to the site of PT. While the web traffic is a measure of the number of visits to the college website. The number of links and visits can be increased if the college can improve the content or material that is useful for the academic community or the general public. This is supported by the open-content policy so that all learning materials or publication of research results freely accessible by the public. The policy is one form of awareness in empowering college web-content for the public interest.
