Doctoral Program in Economics is one of two doctoral programs within Gunadarma University. Its difference from the majority of similar programs is that it promotes the use of information and communication technology—in a variety if ways—in understanding and analyzing economic phenomena. The program encourages its students to develop and use of economic model involving information and communication technology. In addition, the program develops a number of ICT-assisted (e.g., computers and internet technology) economic model to increase innovativeness and productivity of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Indonesia.
In supporting its objectives and the above-mentioned uniqueness, the program offers the following subjects: Research Methodology; Philosophy of Science; Statistical Methods; Quantitative Management; Selected Research Subject Seminar; Indonesia’s Economic Systems; Economics of Information and Communication Technology; Economic Model Development; Industrial Economics; Marketing Management; Managerial Economics; Financial Management (with special topic Financial Management for SMEs); Monetary Economics; and several elective subjects.
To finish the doctoral program, students require three to four academic years, which are equivalent to six to eight semesters. In this period, students have to take minimum of 44 credit units. These comprise of four credit units of general subject, 12 credit units of specialty subject, 6 credit units of dissertation proposal, and 22 credit units of dissertation.
